HANDMADE BANDANAS FOR DOGS AND CATS SUPPORTING LOCAL RESCUE SHELTERS IN SOUTH FLORIDA

Lily and Helix's journey to their forever homes became the inspiration and motivation behind The Brunchin' Pup.

Lily Mae was found wandering the streets of Miami when she was about six months old and taken into Miami Animal Shelter where she waited for a second chance at life. The shelter at Miami-Dade is one of the most over-crowded in the country, with a huge population of bully breeds. With time running out, Lily was saved by a foster who would later lead her into Jennifer's life. At the beginning of summer of 2016, Jennifer was approached by her friend who had been fostering Lily to set a meet and greet. As you can guess, they met at a local brunch spot and it was love at first sight. Lily moved in with her new best friend a few weeks later and their adventures began. Today, Lily enjoys napping on the couch, peanut butter ice cream and posing for pictures.

Helix was found as a stray and turned into an animal shelter. He was scheduled to be euthanized. A dog rescue named Dobies and Little Paws stepped in and rescued this sweet pupparoni. He was a two year old Doberman Pinscher who weighed only 60 pounds. Luckily, Candice was looking to adopt a new family member around the same time. She saw him on the rescue website and immediately knew she had found her match. That same weekend she drove to Fillmore, California where the rescue is located to meet Helix. Upon arrival there were dozens of kennels all with Doberman Pinschers waiting for a new home. When she walked up to Helix’s kennel he was laying down and she could see his tail start to wag. She took him for a walk and from that moment on she knew he was hers. He’s was such a sweet, loyal and affectionate dog from the first day. The adoption papers were signed that day and we drove off into the sunset. Today, Helix enjoys long visits to the dog park, peanut butter, and his monthly BarkBox delivery.
